I am fascinated by the mundane places and discarded objects that people pass by every day without really seeing. Using my camera, I aim to transform these banal places into objects of quiet beauty, enabling viewers to experience them in a wholly new way. As Robert Frank said, “When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice.”

The subject matter that I am most drawn to is New Jersey in all its mysteries, yet my images are also individual pieces of a larger American story. Mine is a modern world seen through the lens of art history, richly influenced by Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth, Charles Sheeler and Walker Evans.

This portfolio offers a vision of a contemporary America where it’s about to rain and the last patrons have long ago stumbled home for the night.
