Curator’s Statement for the International Photography Exhibition

Since we founded the New Jersey Photography Forum in January of 1995, it has been my privilege to participate in the curatorial process of hundreds of exhibits. These events have continued to give professional and other serious photographers the opportunity to share their work with their peers in the Metro area, and now virtually with the global art community. We are proud of how our group has developed and feel that this exhibit clearly reflects the expertise and level of creativity that is happening today in photography.

The New Jersey Photography Forum, now in its 28th year, has a growing mailing list of over 350 photographers. From all the entries received, forty-four photographers were selected that reflect a variety of interests in subject matter, technique, and style with seventy-five images in both the physical as well as this virtual presentation.

The emotional impact ranges from mysterious and thought provoking, to stunning black and whites and digitally enhanced pieces, to traditional and beautiful color works. There was not only a wide variety of impressions for the jury to choose from, but artists took advantage of the opportunity to submit a variety of their work in several different themes. Some of the artists who displayed the best creative and technical skills have several pieces in the exhibit to show for their efforts.

I would like to introduce you to the forty-four artists and to view their images. I suggest that you click on them one at a time, so you have enough time to read the title and artist’s name shown below the image and spend a few moments to really view each image.

We will have a Curator’s Conference via Zoom on November 12, 2022, from 3-5pm, when I will review the exhibit and ask several artists to speak about their work. We hope you can join us. Contact Nancy Ori for the link.
